Tribune Broadcasting, VP, Strategy and Business Development

Kerry Oslund, VP of strategy and business development for Tribune Media, is focused on NexGen customer experiences, business models, and enabling technologies that support them.

Oslund is multi-platform fluent with senior leadership experience in television, digital, radio, cable, digital, and print. He has directly and regularly managed 100 to 1,000 person teams.

Among his current focuses for Tribune Media, a +$2B television conglomerate, is collecting, organizing, and analyzing new OTT (vMVPD) viewership trajectories and further projecting topside revenue opportunities associated with them, including addressable advertising.

Oslund is additionally focused on strategic and tactical work associated with transitioning broadcast markets from current ATSC 1.0 to ATSC 3.0, the coming hybrid standard in combining over-the-air TV with broadband.

The first half of Oslund’s 35 year media career was focused on content creation, including journalism assignments in combat conditions overseas.  The second half of his career has been focused on monetizing and searching for new business models.

Among other honors (he has six regional Emmys), Oslund was also recognized by Broadcasting & Cable Magazine with its Technology Leadership Award.
